Tell me something about you and artistic background.
I was born in Tierp in 1972 and have a background in the visual arts. During the art school years I started working with video, and that is still what I primarily do. Many of my videos were inspired by television, but lately I have been more into manipulating and remixing recorded sights and sounds of everyday life.

Tell me about this film, initial idea and work process.
The video takes place in a trafficked street, and the starting point for it was that I found something essentially comical about the passing of cars, the endless stream of vehicles in different shapes. A sense of alienation, not knowing who are in the cars or where they are going, made me think about the possibility of something less expected passing by as well:  one unidentified shiny alien object among the other shiny alien objects. My working method is a somewhat cumbersome and non-chronological way to approach an idea, involving a lot of trial and error. In this case the video gradually grew out of a lot of compositing tests.

Are you working on new projects at the moment?
Yes, coming up is a piece on my personal take on aerobics exercises.

Do you have specific influences in your film/video making?
Len Lye´s "Rainbow Dance", music and rhythms, Philip K. Dick novels and many other things.

Why is it important for you to show your film/video in a festival?
It´s of course fun if other people see the videos as well, and that they don´t only collect dust on the harddrive.

What role do you think Oslo Screen Festival should have to promote your work?
I think you´re doing just great.
