Tell me something about you and artistic background.
My school background is technical. I did a bachelor in Physic Engineering and a master degree in aerospace. My heart has always been into the arts. My school of cinema have been at the National Film Board of Canada. I was working there as a technical support for the animator. It was there that I decided to do film.
Tell me about this film, initial idea and work process.
In 2000, I travelled in South East Asia. I filmed a lot, a lot of nice images. LoopLoop was the smaller project I was thinking of doing with this footage. After 8 years, LoopLoop has been touring in festivals. I developed it has a video installation and recently it became a short film.
Are you working on new projects at the moment?
I'm working on a new audio/video project. In my dreams this new project will be a short film, a live performance and an audio cd.
Do you have specific influences in your film/video making?
I love independant movies. I love animation film. A big influence, Len Lye, New Zealand born filmaker and kinetic sculptor.
Why is it important for you to show your film/video in a festival?
It's a way for me to get acceptance from other. Before having positive answer from festival, LoopLoop was nearly in a closet forever.
What role do you think Oslo Screen Festival should have to promote your work?
Role of Oslo Screen festival ... future will tell!
